The New Samsung SDK 4.0 For Smart TV



The much awaited SDK 4.0 for Samsung’s 2013 series Smart TV platforms has been recently released. The launch of new SDK means an addition of new features and functionalities, which developers can use to create exciting new TV app to provide a much more amazing user experience.
The new SDK 4.0 is features some toolkits including debugger, Visual Editor, Eclipse-based application editor, and Smart TV Emulators for new and older TV platforms.

The new Samsung Smart SDK 4.0 now supports MAC OS X and Linux platforms, and a new Linux-based Emulator has been released in addition to the Eclipse-based App Editor for Samsung Smart TV SDK. An Ubuntu virtual machine that runs in the Virtual Box virtualization tool is a place where this Emulator executes.
The release new Smart TV SDK has also introduced Cloud Emulator. Developers can connect this Emulator for using a “thin client” Emulator on their app development machines because it is hosted on a remote server. Initially, this feature is only supported with MAC OS X platform.

Editor

The new SDK includes Support for Linux platforms and Mac OS X, Open Samsung Smart TV Semantic Service, Complete WYSIWYG Code Editing, support for Web Inspector and smooth re-sizing of Components.

Features for Windows On 2013 Platform

The new Samsung Smart TV SDK 4.0 includes Smart Interaction with an addition of Gesture and a (New HI (including Gesture) Simulator) SEF (Service Extension Framework), UniPlayer, Apps Framework, 2013 App Engine including (WebSocket, HTML5 Video/Audio, WebGL), Convergence Framework, OCI (Open Convergence Interface) with MIDI support, AllShare, MPEG Dash, In-App Ads, Web Inspector support, Smooth Streaming, Flash 11.1, and Automatic Test Tool (ATT) which allows users to record and playback input events for testing.

Features ForLinux on 2013 Platform (First Release)

The new Samsung Smart TV SDK 4.0 for Linux includes Service Extension Framework (SEF), Apps Framework, App Engine / WebKit, and UniPlayer.

Features ForMAC OS X on 2013 Platform (First Release)

The new Samsung Smart TV SDK 4.0 for MAC OS X includes Cloud Emulator client for Mac OS X, App Engine / WebKit, Apps Framework, UniPlayer, and Service Extension Framework (SEF).
