LinkedIn social media is derived for professionals which is now
testing advertisements for the mobile apps of the smartphones. The revamped
mobile applications are with a purpose to highlight informational stream which
is being shared with the members of the social network. It is for the first
time from LinkedIn to show adds on smartphones which was not done previously.
Within mobile application’s news stream, these ads will
appear. Till it’s a small test as said by Julie Inouye LinkedIn spokeswomen.
The new app will accessible readily for both Apple and Android devices. This
makes it easier as most of the professionals are using smartphones and these
services will help them to a greater extend. They can like and comment on the
shared news story on LinkedIn through the app by going to the news stream
section.
Nowadays people are accessing internet or web through their
mobiles instead of PCs so this shift is clearly in mind of Facebook, Google Inc
and LinkedIn which is why steps for using apps on mobile are being taken by
them. According to the estimate, for about quarter of the LinkedIn traffic
comes from mobile apps. To motivate its
users to spend more time on LinkedIn, it has overwhelmingly produced
changes to its website in the recent months.
Why it needs advertisement? It is quite clear. For having better
visibility. This way, users can better reach to the professionals to whom they
are interested into. The app will help in getting interaction with all those
likeminded people thus enhancing the experience of LinkedIn users.
LinkedIn features like contributed content, endorsements, ability
for monitoring users and notifications has not only changed the way interaction
was done before but this new app has made the network more appealing to be
visited daily instead of just while looking for a job or a business.
The app has more intuitive navigation for customizing jobs,
groups and people we might know. Apart from that, you can view photos largely.
Also, more information with just two to three tabs away. Apart from the
improvements in interface, LinkedIn bringing in sponsored content to the smartphone apps.
According to an estimate, there are 200 million users who
used to log into LinkedIn daily through mobile and just 15% on average, the new
users an year before but now the ratio is 27% for today. That is the reason why
LinkedIn wants to give more reasons to its users to log on for better user
experience.
